Fred Harris is the Senior Minister of First Christian Church and has been on staff since January of 1998. He has been in ministry for 35 years. Pastor Harris was born in Warren, Ohio and attended Bethany College where he received his BA degree; George Peabody College for his MA degree; and Vanderbilt Divinity School, for his Master of Divinity degree. Pastor Harris is married to Deborah Downs Harris, who is a public health nurse. They have two daughters, Jennifer Harris Bagwell and Rebekah Irene Cerame. Pastor Fred enjoys civil war history, travel, and reading.

Pastor Harris feels that his role/mission at First Christian is to be the visionary leader of the church, who inspires and enables each person to use their gifts for God and to bring the transforming love of the gospel to our neighborhood, community, and world.

Cindy Reeder is the Christian Education Director/Program Facilitator and has been on staff since 1996. She has been in ministry for 13 years. Cindy grew up in the Leitersburg area and attended Hagerstown Community College and Montgomery Community College where she received her AA degree. Cindy then attended Shepherd College for her BA degree. Cindy is married to Nelson Reeder and they have two children, Jesse and Ashley. Cindy enjoys decorating, painting, flowers, and auctions.

Cindy feels that her role/mission at First Christian is to connect all people of God to a purpose or project that helps them use their gifts to fulfill God’s purposes for their lives.

Susan Bittle is the Administrative Assistant of First Christian Church and has been on staff since, August of 2000. She has been in some type of Christian ministry for the last 30 years. Susan was born in Waynesboro, PA and grew up just outside Hagerstown in the Beaver Creek community. She received her BA degree in English from Hood College. Susan is married to David Bittle and they have 3 children, Jordan, Asher, and Abigail, and 2 grandchildren, Blake and Darby. Susan enjoys music (singing and playing keyboard), sports, reading, and decorating.

Susan feels that her role/mission at First Christian is to serve the Lord by serving the people of First Christian Church.
