THE MEMBERSHIP COMMISSION The Membership Commission coordinates all programs directly involving the members of the congregation such as receiving new members into the church on Sunday mornings, presenting them with a gift & Bible, taking a picture of the new member to be posted on the bulletin board, and giving them a copy of this handbook.
The Membership Commission also sponsors student recognition programs and adult and youth membership classes. The Membership Commission is responsible for maintaining membership and attendance records. This Commission sponsors New Member Orientations, on a flexible schedule, to introduce new members to all Commission Managers and leaders of special interest groups throughout the church. The Annual Congregational Dinner meeting, held in May of each year, is
planned and hosted by the Membership Commission. During this dinner, long-time members of our congregation are recognized, officers for the upcoming year are elected and the yearly budget is approved. This commission also sponsors the All Church Picnic, which is held the second Sunday in September. Our monthly newsletter, the First Christian News, is sponsored by the Membership Commission. |
